Welcome to the team of the week following Round 10 of the ABSA Currie Cup. We are starting to see combinations week in and week out. What is evident this weekend, is that the team is made up from a more even split amongst the front runners, with the WP game not being showed clearly influencing their contribution.
The backline sees a few changes coming in, with 3 out of the 7 players keeping their spots. Taute is one of the stars of the tournament so far, and is looking to be a strong contender for fullback of the Currie Cup. The Lions 9/10 pair of Vermaak and Jantjes also cemented their spots.
In the scrum we see a brand new front row, and exactly the same loose trio as last week. Johnson, Alberts and Minnie have played some dominating rugby, with Alberts now in the team for four weeks straight. Juandre Kruger shifts to the five jersey and locks with Flip van der Merwe. The Cheetahs props crouch down with Craig Burden for a lively front row.
As you all can see, we now have a sponsor for the Team of the Week, and with a sponsor comes a prize. The competition we will be running will work as follows; at the end of the Currie Cup anybody can enter their team of the Currie Cup. The person that gets their team spot on with the team we select, wins a couple cases of Windhoek Lager. Thanks must go to Windhoek for their participation.

No Mvovo
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 1) : Mvovo scored a cracking try, but only touched the ball 6 times in total against the Pumas. That counted against him.
The lad has simply GOT to be brought into the game more.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 1) :
Mvovo got a few votes, but couldnt keep Nokwe out..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : It might be a good idea to remind the bloggers on Sunday and Monday for their ‘Team of the week’…you might get more responces.
Juan de Jongh in Murray`s place?! Who saw him play?
According to sport24 Louis Ludick and Keegan Daniel will be available for the Sharks this weekend
@Pokkel (Comment 6) : that is good and bad news. good news is we need ludik. bad news is plum may try having keegan and ryan on at the same time, and that experiment has failed far too often.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : how many votes did the Pumas 8th-man get? cant seem to remember his name. shloud be a good buy for a bigger union short in nr8`s. anton leonard type of player.
VRYSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!
@VanWilder (Comment 8) : Doppies le Roux?
@Loosehead (Comment 9) : was wondering when you’d show up
@robdylan (Comment 10) : yip, i rate him. gets over the advantage line time and again.
@VanWilder (Comment 12) : I’ll stick with Alberts and Kanko, thanks
@robdylan (Comment 13) : i said a bigger union, i didnt mean the BIGGEST union…
@robdylan (Comment 10) : I actually jotted his name down at home but the site of Johnson smashing seven shades of ____ out of the Bulls players had me teary eyed.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 15) : and still i`m not a big fan of johnson. think its the hair…
I think those votes needs to be audited . . .
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 15) : you just have to love that sort of thing….
@Original Pierre (Comment 17) :
I am the only auditor around here as far as I know.. Surely thats audited enough?
Sharks have been kinda scrapy that last 2 weeks, hope they clean up their act against the Cheetahs! A five-pointer would be nice but I’ll stick with just a win in my prediction.
@VanWilder (Comment 14) : I’m not really sure we need a new no 8
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 19) : Plenty. How many auditors is too many? One!
