This is do or die for the most improved team in SA this season as we get to the business end of the Currie Cup.
The Lions went from 1 win in 5 matches to 6 wins in 10 matches with a very impressive 5 match winning streak through the middle of the season. With their main rivals, Blue Bulls & Cheetahs, both playing the bottom 2 teams in the Currie Cup this weekend, there is very little option other than a must win for the Lions today.
Should the Lions lose, ALL Sharks supporters will know exactly how they feel after experiencing a similar turn around in the Super 14 this season only to still just be pipped at the final hurdle into the Semi-Finals. The Lions team and their supporters should still be able to hold their heads very high even if their season all but ends today. This team WILL be a force to be reckoned with in the coming Super 15 season.
A special word of appreciation has to go out to Referee Jason Jaftha. How it was Pro Legoete and not Jason Jaftha who won the innaugural Referee of the month award is completely beyond me. This guy is a good referee.
