Leopards coach Chaka Willemse has made wholesale changes to his team for their Currie Cup encounter with the Sharks in Durban on Friday.

Cecil Dumond replaces the injured Danie Dames (shoulder) at fullback, while Cornelius Rautenbach and Jovan Bowles swapped places at centre and wing.

Changes up front will see Victor Joubert and Willem Koch start on the flanks, Edrich Linde is back at lock, while Barend van der Walt and Gavin Williamson start ahead of Johan Coetzee (thigh injury) and Marthinus van der Westhuizen.

The bench also shows a number of changes.

Anthonie Gronum is on the bench, Divan  Kotze is back from the national club championships – where he represented PUK – joining Gharfoer Luckan and Jan van Zyl on the bench.

Leopards: 15 Cecil Dumond, 14 Cornelius Rautenbach, 13 Jovan Bowles, 12 Walter Venter, 11 Dumisani Matyeshana, 10 Clayton Durand, 9 Tiaan Dorfling, 8 Riaan Swanepoel/RW Kember, 7 Willem Koch, 6 Victor Joubert, 5 Edrich Linde, 4 Brad Mockford, 3 Barend van der Walt, 2 Gavin Williamson, 1 Bennie Uys.
Replacements: 16 Marthinus van der Westhuizen, 17 Eric Coetzee, 18 Anthonie Gronum, 19 RW Kember/Riaan Swanepoel, 20 Divan Kotze, 21 Gharfoer Luckan, 22 Jan van Zyl.

  • @war1 (Comment 2) : it looks like a great team and agree we should not right them off like any team they might hv not won a game YET but they will be looking to win at least one game if not us then some other team, but my word if we loose one more game then i don’t know at all really its getting at the point where games must be won for every team so :smile:
