Welcome to another look at the weekend sports that could interest a bit of a gamble. There is not a lot happening this weekend in the form of sports betting, with the English premier league taking a break. So I will take a look at the preliminary betting for the two World Cups next year.

Bet the farm:

Western Province to beat the Sharks – 4/10

Take a chance:

Griquas to beat the Bulls – 5/1

Hail Mary:

Hail Mary’s are not for the faint hearted, and these generally only come through once in a while. Here we go:

Cheetahs to win by 29 points or more
Lions to win by 26 points or more
Bulls to win by 12 points or more
Sharks to lose by less than 9 points

Grand total – 7/1

Rugby World Cup:

Here are the odds for the various teams as it stands presently:

New Zealand – 1/1
Australia – 4/1
South Africa – 4/1
France – 13/1
England – 14/1
Ireland – 40/1
Wales – 40/1
Argentina – 66/1

Cricket World Cup:

Australia – 4/1
India – 4/1
South Africa – 5/1
Sri Lanka – 6/1
England – 6/1
Pakistan – 7/1 (That depends on who you talk to)
New Zealand – 17/1
West Indies – 18/1

Please scroll over to MARSHALLS to have a flutter on the games, or any other sport you might fancy.

  • I am really surprised to see the odds offered on the Sharks.

It must be based purely on the fact that the Sharks have nothing to play for.

He wasnt really sacked. He was basically told that he wouldnt have a tranfer budget even thought we were desperately in need of new players.

He was also under pressure for ‘taking on’ the Yank owners regarding the lack of transfer funds.

Above all, the senior English players Gerrard and Carragher wanted him out.

Dude, with all due respect how can you be a cack manager if you consistently beat the top sides in the world??

    Please explain that to me!

Before Rafa arrived, we struggled in the UEFA Cup and hardly challenged for trophies.

Under his Management we beat Inter, Real Madrid, Juventus, Barca, Man Utd, Chelsea, Dortmund, AC Milan, etc.

Roy Hodgson on the other hand is a cack manager!! :???:

  • @wpw (Comment 37) : okey, hodgson has been in his post for a few months now… rafa could not do much beter with the same squad + mescherano a few months back… almost missing out on europa league spot. in his hey day, with alonso and torres at his prime, rafa had a great spell, i admit, but he could not do much better with the same squad. i agree that liverpool should have a better manager, and with such pedigree deserves better, but i think youre making hodgson kacker than he is…

Bro, i dont need to make him ‘kacker than he is’!!

Just look at his record. The bloody ‘British’ mediocrity by naming him League Manager of the Year for flippen finishing 12th in the league and making the Europa Cup final.

WTF?? Besides that he has won absolutely nothing of note in his 35 years as Manager.

As for your analysis of Rafa, i agree we didnt do that well last year but for goodness sake we have loads of injuries (Torres was out for long periods) and Gerrard behaved like a spoilt brat.
Instead of behaving like a captain he sulked and sulked his way around the field.
