There aren’t enough words right now, so I’ll keep this short.

The Sharks are the 2010 Currie Cup champions after beating Western Province 30-10 in the final.

I am SO, SO proud of everyone involved in the Sharks Union and team. Well done, enjoy the massive celebrations and we will dissect this massive game – and wonderful season – in the days and weeks to come.

SHARKS FOREVER! The CUP is OURS!

And to the rest of nay sayers… you can all SUCK IT!!!!!!

We beat the Mighty BULLS team with all their boks and experience and a WP team with a backline that will but most international sides to shame. In other words, you are WELL DESERVED CURRIE CUP CHAMPS.

WELL DONE BOYS… YOU MADE US PROUD AND MOST OF ALL, YOU DESERVED IT.

  • My voice is shot. Woke up this mornin with butterflies that refused to leave me. Went to my local, watched Strauss have the game of his life, Bismarck being his old self (and controlled), Mvovo making metres for the Sharks, and the rest of the team making the WP players look absolute lost. The players got up after a tackle to put in that xtra effort. Like sykes stopping the drive, but pressurising Aplon into a fumble and Lambie scoring his second. ShArks’s got talent. Absolute ….FANTASTIC

  • What a magnificent performance from The Sharks, possibly the best seen in Durban for many a year. The commitment from every player was outstanding and they deserve all the plaudits that will come their way, even from those who had written them off.
Thank you boys from the depth of my heart for a game that will be remembered for decades. And now, after rest and recuperation, the super 15 looks like it could be a dream about to come true.

  • Unbelievable performance, the severity of some of those tackles reverberated watching live i can tell you! Personally am gutted Andries is leaving, he is the perfect type of player outside of McCleod and Lambie! Don’t think I’ve seen a harder tackling centre since Pieter Muller in the Black and White. Can’t we pull a rabbit out the hat and tell Cheetahs they can keep Bosman?!

But what an unbelievably good coach John Plumbtree has turned out to be for the Sharks. Top of the log 3 years in a row and winning 2 of the last 3 finals…. well done John, you are a legend.

You will be sorely missed and it is a true saying that only when a person leaves do you realise how valuable they are
All the best for your future career and if it doesn’t work out there I’m sure the Sharks will welcome you back with open arms
