  • The 3rd day has started with a beaut of an over by Morkel.

Steyn to partner him from the other side.

  • 129/2 – lunch

Kallis took the second wicket. There was one dropped catch in the slips. Sharp chance, but should have been taken.

  • 156/4 – Steyn, again! I think it was a slower delivery. Azhar Ali scoops to Smith at Mid-on. It also had some shape away from the bat and caught the outside edge.

Two new batsman at the crease.

  • Johan Botha hasn’t been used aside from the 3 overs seam he bowled. Who can tell me why Harris is being preferred as the spinner? Botha has bowled we so far hasn’t he?

  • SA piling on the pressure now, with 3 consecutive maidens from Kallis and Botha.

    Pak 183/4 after 65 overs

  • @Letgo (Comment 9) :

Harris is preferred in the test matches as he bowls better long spells.

I have to agree though that Botha has been the better of the two, even though Botha is a bit more expensive.

Botha bowling very well at the moment

  • Pakistan still trailing by 400 runs.

SA would like to get the last 6 wickets within 200 runs so that the follow on can be enforced.

  • @Pokkel (Comment 15) : The wicket seems to be doing enough for the bowlers. Not really the spinners, but there is relatively good bounce and all the seamer’s got some movement of the pitch.

Smith took Dale of just when he was putting pressure on the Batsman, if they’re not particularly looking after his injury, then I would have liked to see him go for another 3 or 4 overs while he was going so well.

Now the spinners are doing a spell and they’re not giving the batsmen a lot of trouble.

  • I was watching the highlights this morning and wondered why Smith didn’t let AB just go for it until he lost his wickets. That could have been 20 – 50 runs more. We could do with that now.

If we can take the last for before the follow on now, we got a chance of winning this one!

  • Then again there is still plenty of time left. A full 2 days and still 270 odd runs ahead.

Only takes a few quick wickets and things change dramatically.
