As I’m sure you will have noticed, I have been allowing myself a wee bit of down time – some time away from Sharksworld to enjoy the festive season (and all the snow) with my family. As the pinnacle of (and reason for) this holiday season draws close, I wanted to grab a few moments back to extend my warmest wishes to all of you.
We’re quite fortunate, in a way, that our rugby season ends just before the Christmas season begins. It gives us time to give just a little bit back to our wives, husbands, children and other special people that have been forced to make do without us at various other times during the year, particularly when rugby dominates the calendar. I know that my wife in particular is particularly long-suffering, having to put up with me spending hours of what is meant to be our combined leisure time (not that you have much of that with two young kids!) researching and writing for this site. I’m sure you’ll all understand that when I get the rare opportunity to step back from this place for a bit – such as now, when news is thin on the ground – I like to take full advantage of it!
Fear not, for Sharksworld will continue to bring you all the latest news and views from the world of Sharks rugby (and the wider South African rugby community), sprinkled with a little gossip as always! I’ll be back with a bang after Christmas, with priority number 1 being getting to the bottom of this Beast nonsense.
I’d like to wish every single one of our loyal readers and posted a very very merry and blessed Christmas, filled with love, joy and time spent with loved ones. Let’s remember, for the sake of the special Child whose birth we celebrate at this time of year, to spare a thought also for those whose lives are neither as comfortable nor as easy as our own.
Enjoy the festive cheer, mince pies and all and here’s to 2011 being a truly great year for all of us – and especially for the Sharks!Tweet
