Sneak preview: Stormers Super Rugby jersey

Sharksworld has managed to obtain a picture of the new 2011 Stormers Super Rugby jersey.

This is obviously not a particularly “official” image of it, of course – think of it as a super-exclusive spy-cam style sneak peak, brought to you by one of our army of undercover agents. We truly have managed to infiltrate many of the most secretive bastions of the game!

The jersey will apparently be available for sale from early February.

Update: We’ve been asked to take this down by the WP Rugby Union and in the interests of not making enemies unnecessarily, we’ve complied.

  • Sort of like it actually.

Now just drop that bloody aweful franchise name Stormers and stick with WP and I will be 100% sold.

  • I actually don’t like it, surprised you guys all do. I feel they could have used far more imagination in incorporating the sponsors logo. Also, I feel the entire shirt could have done with a more modern/artistic design, instead of something representing a 1980′s rugby hemp.

But that’s just me… luckily I’m not in the market for a Stormers jersey. SHARKS FOREVER

But ja, the DHL logo could be incorporated onto the jersey a bit better based on this.

  • @KSA Shark © (Comment 24) : considering from where it started out to where it is now, it is far closer to the traditional than it ever has been. black with horizontal white stripes on the front. merge all those stripes into one and you have the cc jersey. remember the first that incorporated ep’s colours, then the grey/silver one.

  • @try time (Comment 27) : But there are no horisontal stripes on the Super Rugby Jersey?

If any thing the closest IMO would have been the early ones with the EP colours in. That one just moved the stripe(s) down the Jersey.

  • I thinks a nice Stormers Jersey would be the one with the signatures filling it from the bottom and the on the white section on the top you could incorporate the DHL logo.

On the above Jersey why didn’t they just drop the yellow portion of the DHL logo and only have the red lettering, suitably sized to fit on a white stripe.

    THEN…..
Play with a Yellow Jersey as their alternate strip when needed……
