Adrian Jacobs will win his 100th Super Rugby cap if (or rather when) he takes the field for the Sharks this weekend. The popular Springbok centre has been named on the bench for the crunch opener against the Cheetahs.
Adi’s 99 caps have been for three teams; he’s represented the Cats 4 time, the Bulls on 21 occasion and the Sharks for the bulk of his Super Rugby career (74 times and counting) . What is important, though, is to take a few minutes to give some love to one of our most loyal and all-round favourite Sharks as he reaches a major career milestone.
All the talk this week has been about Fourie du Preez being the first South African back to reach the magical 100 cap figure. What the media has neglected to mention is that Adi is odds on to beat him to that record, by the narrowest of margins!
Congrats, Adrian Abraham Jacobs, you Sharks legend! Go show us what you can do and score a try against the Cheetahs to mark the occasion.
