Rory Sidey has been banned for three weeks after appearing before a SANZAR judicial hearing.
Sidey did not contest that his tackle was dangerous and SANZAR judicial officer decided that his tackle on Odwa Ndungane should be punished by three weeks on the sidelines.

In other Force-related news last year’s Australian player of the year, David Pocock is ruled out for up to six weeks as a result of the knee injury he suffered in the match against the Sharks. Centre, Mitch Inman could be out for a month after dislocating his elbow in the same match.

  • Probably long enough. Never mind him not contesting. Was there any sort of apology ?

  • It would not have been as bad if he was not assisted in the tackle.

  • I think this was lenient – maybe they took into account that he was red carded at the beginning of the games….so that made up four weeks.

  • I would have thought his dissent at the touchline judge would have earned him a longer sentence, the prat!

  • @CapeShark (Comment 5) : certainly didn’t endear himself to anyone with his behaviour. Glad he’s getting a rest

  • Yes first his reaction after the card wasn’t sporting and secondly had that been a big name player he would’ve suffered a longer sentence. But glad he got banned nonetheless… Wasn’t impressed with The Force’s attitude toward the game…

  • I just hope that Sidey had the decency to check on Odders after the match, perhaps a call to apologize. He certainly didn’t care one bit during the match about the possible damage he did to another person.
