CWC: The end of the Poms?

Today is one of the most important games in the World Cup so far, with the English needing to beat the West Indies to avoid an early and rather embarrassing exit from the tournament.

Should England lose today, they will not continue to the quarter finals and Bangladesh will make their way into the play offs. Should England win, Bangladesh would have to beat South Africa on Saturday to qualify.

  • And did those feet, in ancient time, fail to make the wickets in time… And was the holy Lamb of God on Englands pleasant pastures kakking… And did the countenance divine, shine forth upon the Windies bowlers? And was Jerusalem builded here, among Chennai’s hot and sweaty hills?

Bring me my bale of burning gold, bring me my Yorker of desire.
Bring me my catch: O clouds unfold! Bring me my LBW of fire!
I will not cease from boundary blocks, Nor shall my ball sleep in my hand: Till the Windies build Jerusalem, with England’s useless batsmen’s helmets.
