Louw HAS signed for Bath

Despite a report to the contrary on a popular website, Sharksworld has reliably learned that Stormers flanker Francois Louw has indeed signed a contract to join Bath in the UK.

According to an informed source, the deal was sewn up quite a while ago and Western Province are fully aware of the situation.

The current attempts to refute the move would appear to be part of a campaign to ensure that Louw is not seen in a negative light by the Springbok selectors, since he still has hopes of representing the national side at the Rugby World Cup later this year.

  • A good player, but I can’t see him making it into the squad:

    Spies/Kankowski
    Burger/Brussouw
    Smith/Alberts

And then there’s still Danie Rossouw who’s on a Bok contract and let’s not forget the “soon to be new Captain’s” favourite: Stegmann

To be fair I dont blame him. Watching Stegman and Spies get gametime week after week would also make me look at other options.

  • and bye as there are points for a bye, the bye should be classified as a game to get a fair picture. so stormers should actually be 25 from 6 not 5.

  • log should be w d l b. this will then clear up this whole 4 point mess.

  • @try time (Comment 18) : I agree – or make a sub total for actual game points a bye points column and then a Total.

Actually they should sommer include the eight points in everyone’s total from the start – then you will have a realistic log…this is really stupid..

It’s give someone like the Stormers who just say “look at the log” a false sense of security….poor things..

  • This whole four points for a bye is the stupidest idea ever, and I really cannot see what purpose it serves.
To make some sense of it, and to get a feel of the actual picture, the log needs to include a bye column once the points have been allocated, and then the total games ‘played’ can be seen as actual games played, plus any byes.

on the other hand, the lions are bound to double their points over a bye weekend, i guess you guys would love that? ;-)

  • @VanWilder (Comment 28) : Yeah, it’s ridiculous.

When I look at the premier league log, I see a team has so many points, and has played so many games, another team has less points, and less games, it gives an indication as to whether the lower team is still in with a chance of catching the other team. If you try do the same with the super log, without benefit of a ‘bye’ column, you could be seriously confused

The second part of your comment?

yip, thats the same way i look at it, if you have a game in hand, then you can see if the team is still in with a shout… i hope they rectify this next year.

did anyone see how Darren Scott felt about SBW`s tackle on Kankowski?? he was pumped up, and rightly so, not just for that tackle, but against the citing system as a whole…
