The Brumbies side to take on the Sharks at Mr Price Kings Park on Saturday evening has been announced, with little surprises in how the team is made up.
The biggest change is that of Captain Matt Giteau moving back to the flyhalf position in a straight swop with Christian Lealiifano, who moves back to inside centre. The positional changes clearly did not work against the Cheetahs last weekend.
There is also a frontrow change with Jono Owen making his debut after Dan Palmer injured himself, and then Tyrone Smith gets his first start of the season at outside centre.
Brumbies: 15. Pat McCabe, 14. Andrew Smith, 13. Tyrone Smith, 12. Christian Lealiifano, 11. Adam Ashley-Cooper, 10. Matt Giteau (Captain), 9. Patrick Phibbs, 8. Ita Vaea, 7. Colby Faingaa, 6. Mitchell Chapman, 5. Mark Chisholm, 4. Peter Kimlin, 3. Jono Owen, 2. Stephen Moore, 1. Ben Alexander
Replacements: 16. Huia Edmonds, 17. Salesi Ma’afu, 18. Ben Hand, 19. Michael Hooper, 20. Josh Valentine, 21. Robbie Coleman, 22. Francis Fainifo

We seriously need to get this one in the bag! Come on Sharkie Boys!
@Ice (Comment 1) : a good 5 pointer is on the cards here
@franshark (Comment 2) : I reckon too, so we better make the best of the opportunity, play Thinking rugby
and get the points on the board!
Bar the stormers game the sharks look like they can’t lose at home..
@shaniboi (Comment 4) : and have the ability to score 4 tries
We should play territory and then we can attack with the backs,who do we think we are the last few games with our backs and the forwards not doing much of the attack.
@Honey Badger (Comment 6) :
@Ice (Comment 7) :
With you on that Ice.. No idea..
I am just trying to say that it looks like we think we have this destructive backline on attack.
When we did all the hard work with the forwards we really played well(other games).
We should really stop running the whole time in our own half.It is not working.
The Way Forward:
1. Bosman needs to fall on his sword.
2. We need to start both Alberts and Deysel. This could be done by moving Alberts to 8. Bring Kanko on later and move Alberts into the lock position.
3. Backline could look like this : Charl, Lambie, Adi, Stefan, Mvovo, JP and LL with JLP on the bench as centre and flyhalf cover.
We need to re-gain some momentum here, all is not lost. If we can at least secure second spot in SA it means we`ve improved on last year despite losing key personnel.
@Honey Badger (Comment 9) : ” destructive backline on attack ”
I`m sure SBW and JdV will concur!
Saw the Brumbies taking a dip at Umhlanga this afternoon. What a nice bunch of okes.
Oh, BTW, Matt Giteau wears a speedo!
@Crock (Comment 11) : Can he afford to…?
Just checking!
@Original Pierre (Comment 10) : JIP
@Ice (Comment 12) : I do not like how your post made mine look.
