The BIG question….

I am sure all of us, at one stage or another, would love to ask a question to a player / coach / referee….

I have  plenty of questions that I would like answers for. And I have been thinking about writing something about it for a while now. Although in all honesty, only one of them springs to mind right now, so I am gonna give you the platform to play journo and ask your questions. Perhaps one day, I can give you the answers from the horses mouths?

Righty then, my question would go to Wickus van Heerden:

“How did you (and all your team mates and who ever else was involved in that thuggery) feel after winning the 2007 Super 14? Knowing all to well that it was won by illegally stealing a ball in the ruck? No, really….dont tell me these things happen….I WANNA KNOW HOW YOU FELT???!! Was the victory sweet?? DID YOU SLEEP WELL AFTER THAT???? DID YOU???”

Okay – got that off my chest – your turn. Like I say – let’s see if some of us that has a contact or two, might get an answer to your BIG question!

  • By the way, watching Shark Bite TV, Bissie said his most difficult opponent is Craig Burden. Some journo’s rate him the 3rd best hooker in the country. One hopes he does not trek to other lands because of playing 1minute of rugby.

  • @robdylan (Comment 2) : Rob – I was always under the impression it was Derrick Kuun – but in his book, John Smit (i read it for a second time while catching a tan on the Ile of Maurice  ) mentioned his feeling of dispair when he saw Wickus stealing the ball. I am sure he was not the only one involved – but tried to look in you tube and looks like he did the final blow of the nail in the coffin with that particular thing.

  • We could’ve won the game three times by kicking the ball out.

But that incident infuriates me. Wickus was lying on his back and scooped the ball back after having knocked it on too. At least on Bulls player also joined from the ruck. MASSIVE FAILURE by Steve-I-need-a-drink-Walsh.

  • They sleep better than AJ Venter and Frans Steyn, as the Bulls players have the medal on their mantels. And which question is the BIG ONE? You asked six questions. The result in 2007 wasn’t the just one, but life isn’t just. It is 2011 move on. They don’t bleat on about Tony Watson’s 9 point try. The Bulls moved on and won more trophies, while the Sharks sit and count their couldhave beans.

I am a woman – cannot only ask one question – 6 questions will eventually boil down to one answer from a male anyway – and in this case, I reckon the answer I would get from Wickus would be “Yes I slept well and No, it did not bother me in the least”…

  • @Ben (Comment 23) : If AJ was a smarter captain he would have told Steyn to use every second of his 2 minutes to take the conversion. Things might have turned out differently if after the kick 1min remained on the clock instead of 3, because the Bulls may not have had the same belief in pulling the game out of the fire.

Personally I feel Kallis(the best cricketer of all time) carried this yet again this year… And that costs you when the stakes are raised.

  • Did you ever feel like giving a teammate a good Klap after he did something stupid to lose possession when you`re on the attack?

  • re 2007 S14 Final – I was in the stadium and I can tell you that there was very little chance that the players could hear the hooter – it was deafening in there. I can still remember driving all the way home in complete silence, shocked and stunned. I still want to waterboard Steve Walsh, how he got out of KP alive is beyond me.

  • @Scooby55 (Comment 97) : That’s the difference between is and Bulls fans.

Had the reverse happened up country Walsh would have been the subject of a 60minutes investigation into his mysterious disappearance from the face of the earth with only an empty Klipdrift bottle left at the place where he was last seen.
