This weekend’s crunch Super Rugby derby between the Stormers and the Bulls at Newlands is shaping up to be a real humdinger, with the “house full” signs already going up in Cape Town early in the week. A number of key players look unlikely to passed fit in time for the big game, though.
Foremost amongst these is Stormer flyhalf Peter Grant, who was sent home early from his team’s overseas tour in order to stand the best chance possible of being ready to face the Bulls. His injury is not responding as well as had been hoped, though and to make matters worse, his regular halfback partner, Dewald Duvenage, will also not be there, having done an ankle two weeks ago.
Kurt Coleman and Ricky Januarie did fine at halfback against the Rebels last week, but the Bulls will be a far tougher prospect.
Not that the Pretoria side is guaranteed to be at full strength either, mind you. Lock Bakkies Botha is in doubt with a flare-up of an old knee injury, while both Gary Botha and Zane Kirchner will need to recover from knocks sustained against the Waratahs on Friday night.

No doubt the Bulls will be foaming at the mouth on Saturday & eager for some revenge, but the Stormers should have the measure of them.
Only concern is the travel fatigue.
