The Stormers have named their team to take on the Crusaders in the semi finals. There are no real surprises, with Tiaan Liebenberg being promoted to the starting team for his extra bulk up front and his more accurate lineout throwing. Conrad Jantjies has been brought back at fullback as the coaching staff believe the Crusaders will continue with the kicking game they’ve displayed in the last few rounds, which means Gio Aplon moves to the wing and Jean De Villiers moving back into his familiar 12 jersey.
As predicted, Nick Koster will start at 8 with Schalk Brits providing loose forward cover from the bench. They have quite a few exciting “game breakers” on the bench that will hopefully provide some impetus in the second half with their fresh legs, Deon Fourie, Juan De Jongh and Johann Sadie are all players who have the potential to add a spark from the bench if needed.
Stormers Team:
Wickus Blaauw, Tiaan Liebenberg, Brok Harris, Rynhardt Elstadt, Andries Bekker, Schalk Burger ©, Francois Louw, Nick Koster, Dewaldt Duvenage, Peter Grant, Bryan Habana, Jean De Villiers, Jaque Fourie, Gio Aplon, Conrad Jantjes
Replacements:
Deon Fourie, Steven Kitshoff, Anton Van Zyl, Schalk Brits, Louis Schreuder, Juan de Jongh, Johann Sadie

Sadie ,de jongh on the bench..what a luxury.hope sadie joins the bulls (evil)
Jaque fourie then cleared to play?hope jean div can have a more prominent game this weekend.
@bergshark (Comment 2) : I’m looking for official updates, haven’t heard anything new yet, I will update as soon as I have something.
@molly:blues flyhalf stephen brett has signed 2 year deal with jap club verblitz(?).
@bergshark (Comment 4) : Brett’s shares have dipped in NZ this season. I guess they are still seriously worried with their backup for Carter.
Go stormies!!!!
Molly…I recon it’s the right call to play Liebenberg. They will need his bulk with the Crusaders front row
@Villie:he looked seriously talented when he was at the saders.
Stormers!!!
@bergshark (Comment 8) : Yes he did. I think they are a bit woried with his consistency. great one week, average the next.
@Villie (Comment 7) : Yup, I’m happy with him starting, Deon can cause havoc later on in the game! Liebenberg has been looking VERY fired up of late, so hopefully he can do some damage in the first 60 or so.
@molly (Comment 11) : If the game loosens up it will be fun to see Deon and Shalck unleashed on some tired defenders.
No Ricky – poor Saders
GO STOOOORMERS!
@robdylan (Comment 14) : whoo hooo!!!
Helluva side!
Go get ‘em girls!!!
Crusaders by 8. That’s my pick.
Hope I’m wrong.
