If anything that Peter de Villiers says can be believed, then the following statement might put some form a smile on your face.

Willem Alberts will be considered for the test match against the All Blacks this Saturday in Port Elizabeth. Commenting on Juan Smith and the availability of the World Cup winning flank, de Villiers mentioned that Alberts was probably ready to face the Wallabies this week, but did not want to risk the player ahead of the World Cup.

This is great news for the big Sharks forward, who will be more than happy to run at a few All Blacks this weekend. In the meantime, Juan Smith has been released to the Cheetahs to play Currie Cup rugby this weekend, the same rehabilitation that Heinrich Brüssow went through by playing a few minutes for the Cheetahs.

  • Between Burger, Smith, Deysel and Alberts someone has got to miss out. Brussow will no doubt go as well as Spies. Unless Alberts plays at 8?
Kanko and Johnson most likely to miss out?
