Some love him some dislike him, I don’t like using the word but my feeling for this guy are much stronger than dislike.
The one and only Ollie le Roux is in the headlines again. No he hasn’t been selected as a surprise inclusion in the RWC squad. His rugby career was washed up a loooooong time ago. Ollie can only get in the press by saying sensationalistic mumbo jumbo, or in short “talking out of his burger fueled arse”
The washed up Springbok has yet again been only to keen to offer his opinion to an Afrikaans weekly newspaper and surprise surprise he has once again spewed some less than sensible rubbish.
Ollie is quoted in Rapport as saying “Bismarck was phenomenal at hooker. Our scrums were also very good with Bismarck and Jannie at the helm. I also believe that Bismarck again just proved that there is no place for John Smit in the Springboks’ 22-man side,”
Times must have changed drastically since the bygone era where Ollie is still the most capped substitute for the Springboks ever. In his day it must have been okay for a a 22 man squad to only have one hooker. Either that or he believes Smit is not even good enough to be the 3rd hooker in the Bok tour.
Personally I noticed no difference in the Springbok scrum performance when John Smit came on. Ollie however has that axe to grind for being spoken of in less than glowing terms in John Smit’s book.
Dear Mr. Le Roux.
Please stick to that what you know rather than trying to talk about modern day rugby.
I believe you are, or were, into some amateur art trading. Presumably there was the odd antique piece in your collection. I suggest you go and join your collection of antiques and sit quietly on a shelf somewhere, rather than sully your reputation even further.
Not so kind regards
KSA Shark

I’ve tagged Ollie in this post and hope he DOES google himself occasionally.
top form, KSA
I suspect Ollie rings up the newspapers himself.
Much like the oke that rings up his ex at 2 in the morning absolutely bladdered.
@McLovin (Comment 3) :
@KSA Shark © (Comment 1) : he’s the sort of oke that probably doesn’t do anything else…
Wicked!
Ollie was fun to watch play, but his penchant for spouting unnecessary opinions does his reputation no good.
KSA; for the record, I thought there was a difference when John and Beast came on – we scrummed even better!
The AB scrum in the 2nd half had Ben Franks, and this is the first time I have ever seen him buckled. Beast broke him – but Jannie and John came to the party too.
PS: When you mentioned Rent-a-Quote, I thought it might have been Jake White having another dig.
I never really rated Ollie as a player. Am I the only one who thought he was rather average at test level??
Spot on. Ollie le Roux needs to keep his trap shut. What qualifies him to be making these comments? He’s been doing it since before the previous World Cup, so you can’t exactly say he’s got a good track record.
Him and Os probably both have their All Blacks jerseys ready.
@Big Fish (Comment 6) : must say, that was my first instinct too… Jake is never far away when silly opinions are the order of the day
I think John and Bismarck must rotate a horses for courses sort of approach… I think I would start with Bismarck, actually, as long as John Smit doesn’t prop all will be fine. I didn’t enjoy Bismarck’s attitude at being called off, but an incredible player… Unlike Oil Le Poux…
Bismarck deserves to be the starter. Best hooker in world at the moment IMO. John had maybe his worst game against Australia I thought… but regardless he is still a good player.
And you don’t go dropping your captain 2 weeks before the World Cup. If it didn’t matter I’d say Adriaan Strauss is 2nd best hooker in SA clearly! But John won’t let these guys down. They’re a team. John is the leader.
Much as I dislike Ollie, I have to disagree with you. Between CJ and John our scrums weakened considerably. We went from total dominance to just holding our own. Neither John, nor CJ is good enough to start for the boks and I don’t think it a stretch to suggest that we have a better option for either apart from the DuP brothers.
Well done KSA
@King Shark (Comment 13) : but Ollie would never say anything against his Free State gatgabba CJ
great way with words i must say
I see the poison dwarf’s sidekick is having a go at Tank Lanning for the story.
@lostfish (Comment 17) : Directions please
Dollie, Dollie, Doliie…..you have now ground the axe down to the wooden handle, be careful for a splinter in the one eye you see through.
BTW Grow up sweetie.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 18) : I saw it on twitter
@lostfish (Comment 20) : thank ye
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 21) : Did you perhaps see the chat between Vrede and Brad Habana
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 22) : about the Bok announcement?
Lekker KSA. Hopefully Ollie sees this and I am sure that he will as he seems like the type of person that would google himself atleast 3 times a day.
Olie, Go crawl into a hole somewhere where the press cannot find you, you stupid …
@King Shark (Comment 13) :
We secured a tighthead and another huge scrum in the 2nd half – I don’t think that qualifies as weakened?
@lostfish (Comment 23) : Thats the one
@lostfish (Comment 17) : More info please
@Big Fish (Comment 25) :
Hi there BF.
Thats how I saw it too. Smits first scrum was a bit iffy but from there on in the scrums were very dominant and they also got a tighthead.
@Big Fish (Comment 25) :
I second..
Beast made a huge impact off the bench, scrum got stronger with Guthro off the park
@KSA Shark © (Comment 27) : They actually come to a common understanding
@KSA Shark © (Comment 27) : Both of them agree with what Ollie said but Vrede wanted to know why they give the fool a platform and Tank says it generates hits, about 15,000.
@lostfish (Comment 31) : Ah okay. Thanks.
@lostfish (Comment 31) : So what Tank is saying he’d happily post smut as long as it creates traffic?
I can see why someone from Voldy would have no comeback to that.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 33) : pretty much.
@lostfish (Comment 31) :
Not much different to what the poisoned dwarf does!!
He is without doubt the most divisive sports journo in SA.
@wpw (Comment 35) : I wouldn’t even call him a journo…
@richardferguson: guthro did nothing wrong while he was on the park.actually wanted to mention his name as one of the unsung heroes of the boks first half effort.
@wpw (Comment 35) : While i think Keo is alot of bad things I am also of the opinion he is actually a very good writer.His constant need to push an angle is the pits.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 38) : I don’t dispute he is a good writer, it is as you said his angle is the pits which makes voldy.co.za more of a tabloid than serious news.
