Milestones? What milestones

I guess this was bound to happen to us sooner or later. I’m afraid to say there really aren’t any significant (or otherwise) Currie Cup milestones to talk about for the Sharks this week.

A number of players are, of course, steadily working their way into double figures but there are still a few weeks to go for them. Oom Stef Terblanche inches ever closer to 100 Currie Cup caps for the Sharks too, earning his 95th this week, while Craig Burden gets his 55th and Charl McLeod his 55th.

In terms of tries, we’re still waiting for Jacques Botes to score his 30th Currie Cup try for the Sharks and for Craig Burden to get his 20th. Each player needs only one more score to reach those numbers.

We do, however, have two birthdays to celebrate today, with Jacques-Louis Potgieter and under 21 centre Heimar Williams both marking another trip around the sun today. Many happy returns to both of you and special congratulations to Jacques-Louis as well, whose wife gave birth to son Jean-Luc last weekend.

  • @Ben (Comment 2) : Yep, signing JLP, Meyer Bosman and Marius Joubert has been one big waste of time; and most of us here on the site could have predicted that.
