The Sharks under 21 side to face the Leopards on Saturday shows a number of enforced changes to the unit that downed Western Province in the last round.
Coach Sen Everitt has had to reshuffle his backline to cover for the call-up of Gouws Prinsloo to the senior side as well as an injury to outside centre Piet Lindeque. JArred Meyer comes in at 13 to partner Heimar Williams, while Jaco van Tonder moves from wing to fullback to cover for Prinsloo. Nico van der Westhuizen moves into the vacant wing slot, while Kayde Fisher and Drew Norton are the newcomers to the 22, both named on the bench.
The pack has a far more settled look, with Brynard Stander coming in at blindside flank to replace the injured Siseko Jafta. Zimbabwean Mike Williams, who captained the Sharks under 19 side last year, comes onto the bench to provide utility forward cover. Shaun Malton continues to lead the team from hooker.

I must have a good chat with xander about that powerful explosive lad Byrandt Stander he is exactly what the bulls need
Jared Meyer is a talented player at KES he was exceptional.
He was Bradley Moolmans centre partner at craven week for the lions under 18 side.
I think i will stick with beet about Piet Lindeque he is a great talent with time on his side.
After all he is from grey college
so he should be close to making a break through soon i am also holding thumbs for him.
His centre partner at grey Francois Venter is playing very well and coping with the physical demands of senior rugby.
Beet i still want to see the Lindeque and Venter combo again its mouth watering.
I’m not surprised Paul Jordaan is playing great rugby at flyhalf.
I believe at grey college he was moved to inside centre to accomodate the talented Johan Goosen.
Plus i have seen him kick before i still maintain that he reminds me of well in kiwi terms
a classical second five eights,a hybrid in the mould of a young aaron mauger.
@Muzi (Comment 3) : It’s actually interesting coz Paul seems to stand a little deeper (to accomodate his pace I guess) than the traditional Sharks no.10s do. We have generally been a flat ball team ever since Mac was coach.
With Johan Goosen almost certain to be tied up in SR, it’s going to be interesting to see who Oom Dawie picks as his go-to man for the JWC 2012. Goosen’s absence will certainly open up the playing field. Guys like Tony Jantjies and Marais Schmidt will come into the equation. Who knows, perhaps even an inform Faf Tredoux could challenge for a spot
I think this game will be a lot tough than the 1st round encounter.
@Muzi (Comment 3) : how old were you when aaron mauger was “young”?
@Megatron (Comment 6) : I remember meeting a very young Aaron Mauger along with Scottie Robertson and Justin Marshall in Dbn in 2001. Muzi wud have been 10 then.
@beet (Comment 4) : Tony Jantjies is having a great season with the bulls under 19s he has improved his goal kicking i have high hopes for him i want him to be even better than his brother Elton
.Like you said marais schmidt is also in contention.Lets not forget tim swiel he is class..
Faf Tradoux has the potential to be a world class flyhalf he is a wondefull balanced flyhalf he has speed and he likes to take the ball up something bulls junior flyhalf struggle with.
What about next years potential SA schools flyhalves very exciting.
I believe we will see the best of Handre Pollard very composed..lets not forget young jordaan at grey.
And i’m holding thumbs for young Joshua Stander from queens like that commentator said in the craven week game he is a big time player very talented.
Framesby i believe have a talented flyhalf.
@Megatron (Comment 6) : its none of your beez neez
go back to that anti pierre spies and anti blue bulls website keo.co.za bye bye
@Muzi (Comment 9) : so I infer that you don’t consider this an anti-Pierre Spies website?
We clearly need to up our game
@Muzi (Comment 9) : were you still supporting the Lions then?
@robdylan (Comment 10) : aaah Rob come on dude the pierre spies bashing makes me
I can stomach the anti steggies bashing.
@Muzi (Comment 12) : don’t get me wrong… I love Spies as a person. Really admire his strong moral fortitude and commitment to his faith above all else.
I just don’t rate him as a great forward. One of life’s tragedies that he didn’t stay in the backs.
@Megatron (Comment 11) : Someone please please pinch this dude
@robdylan (Comment 13) : I read his testimonial very inspiring and i will get his book
Yea Rob i hurts me to see a talent like pierre spies being wasted like that
@beet (Comment 4) :
I could be wrong, but I think the majority of the Junior World Champs falls in that 3-week break. The Cheetahs also have a ‘bye’ week, so they get 4 weeks.
If Theron forgets about not picking S15 players, then he’s going to have a strong squad to pick from.
Players that definitely demand inclusion that spring to mind: Steven Kitshoff, Ruan Venter, Johan Goosen, Paul Jordaan, Tshotsho Mbovane… list goes on.
@hendrikp (Comment 16) :
@beet (Comment 7) :
This would be my side expect a few bulls juniors again.
15.Barry(Wp)
14.Mbovane(Wp)
13.William Small Smith(Blue Bulls)
12.Jordaan(Sharks)
11.Travis Ismael(Blue bulls)
10.Goosen(Cheetahs)
9.Van Rooyen(Blue Bulls)
8.Nardus Van der Walt(Blue Bulls)
7.Jordaan(Cheetahs)
6.Wiaan Liebenberg(Blue Bulls)
5.Schalk van heerden(Bulls)
4.Ruan Venter(Lions)
3.Kitsoff(WP)
2.Jason Thomas(Bulls)
1.Allen Dell(Sharks)
Not bad at all.
@Muzi (Comment 14) : mauger is 31, so a “young aaron” is how young Muesli?
anyway just kidding mfanakithi.
Muzikayise is the name not bloody breakfast
Its all good man.
@Megatron (Comment 18) : Where you the one who came up with Paul the bushmaster Jordaan
that is why you are a regular blogger in keo.co.za you guys are mean sies.
@hendrikp (Comment 16) : @Muzi (Comment 17) : There are a lot of guys to choose from.
I’m confident that our 2 players: Jafta and Pieter-Steph will be in the mix along with Jordaan.
I can’t see them looking past all 4 Bulls u19 locks for next season either. I’m sure at least 1 of them will make the grade.
Allan Dell is now a loosehead which puts him in direct compo with Kitshoff.
Jan Serfontein must surely be in the team. All there are bound to be a few not so well known Cheetahs and Leopards knocking on the door as well.
But I agree all the guys that Hendrik mentioned are class players.
@beet (Comment 21) : Allan will donner you for calling him a loosehead!
He’s a tighthead who’s helping the team out at 1 cos there’s no-one else
@robdylan (Comment 22) : I spoke to his dad on Sat. He’s happy there. So maybe just a backhand or a female dog slap coming my way.
@Muzi (Comment 20) : well, it was lank funny seeing jordaan plant himself face-first in that hedge
forget that he MISSED a tackle that led to a try…
but i like jordaan, he is an EC boy.
