Tourists are people who travels thousands of miles so they can photograph themselves.
It’s the end of the year. Here in South Africa it’s summer(hot). The holiday and festive season is in full swing. Most surrounding neighbors are hanging around or not at home at all. Braai fires any time during the week, even a few strange faces are showing up at the corner shop. Wow seriously, this year is a goner, and what a year it was.
For many this is the end of a year of planning, saving, having booked their place of destination a long time ago. Made sure of all the resources needed, having collected all the info needed to make their trip as valuable as possible. Looking forward to a good time of relaxing and some fun in the sun. For others it will be a spur-of-the-moment thing. Working to the bitter end, jumping unto the internet or phone searching for the best availabile place to breakaway. For some it’s all about family and retreating to a state of visitations and catching up the missed opportunities for spending good qaulity time with loved ones. And there will also be the unlucky ones who have to stay at home, still working because their leave has been taken through the year, or the conditions of their work don’t allow them to take leave at this time of the year.
Each of us would have a different story to tell, and I want to encourage each to tell, tell us about your plans(or the non plans) you’ve made for this holiday time. Tell us a bit about your highs and lows of this year, sport(rugby) and personal(if you dare to).
I hope that each of you have a very blessed holiday season no matter how you spend your time. And to Rob and all the other administrators of SW, thanks for a good year of reading and sharing.
I have had a holiday, and I’d like to take it up professionally.

I must say my high point of the year has to be the S15 game between Shark and Bulls, loftes, and the gathering of SW’ders…
Best day of the year by far…
@Franshark (Comment 1) : Agreed, my rugby highlight too.
On a different subject – Rob thanks so much for being so dedicated to SW. You’ve created a great environment for us to discuss Shark’s rugby and your efforts very often go under-appreciated. Thanks for sticking with us despite the personal attacks and trolls that find there way onto the site every now and again.
PS. Really hope you find a way to make BokWorld work too. Still think it should be merged into Sharksworld. I have a few suggestions that might be workable. E-mail me if you’d like to discuss!

As for my sporting high , there have been many , Meeting Jon Smit, Brad Barritt, Deon Carstens, Rory Kockott and numerous other players this year at Franklins Gardens . But i’d have too say the top high was attending the Super 15 game at Twickers between two Great sides , the Crusaders and The SHARKS
and also catching up with Rob ” Our Fearless Leader ” while there
God bless One and All
