The Crusaders have made the decision to play their first home game of the SupeRugby campaign at McLean Park, Napier. This after rumours going around were that the game would be played in either Timaru or Nelson.
The decision is a purely financial call, as the extra funds from gate takings in Napier will go a long way to make up the NZ$700,000 lost last season.
Both Timaru and Nelson hosted games in the 2011 campaign, and there will be a lot said that the team will not be returning to these cities, but the team can simply not afford to make decisions with the heart.
We wish the Crusaders all the best after their financial loss last year, just as we support the Lions to make it through their current financial crisis, the last thing we want to see is a successful team going under.

Well said Richard!
Christchurch is still reeling after the earthquake……
During the week The Press ( our local paper ) said its been 500 days since Sept 4 our first big quake and we have had more than 9500 quakes and shakes since, all pretty scarey, but we are carrying on. Hopefully all goess well with the rugby stadium and we get rugby back in Christchurch.
