André Pretorius returns

Former Springbok flyhalf André Pretorius has returned to South Africa, and has been snapped up by the newly relegated Leopards team, and has already started training with the Potch-based outfit.

Pretorius joins two of his previous Lions teammates in Leon Boshoff and Jorrie Muller, all three practically the same age, but with Boshoff being the coach and the legendary Jorrie Muller his assistant.

A move from Toulon to the Leopards might seem to be a big step down, but he hardly got any game time for the French team, since they have another World Cup winning flyhalf in Jonny Wilkinson playing week in and week out.

We wish the former Sharks flyhalf all the best in his new endeavours.

  • I really think Pretorius could have done better than the Leopards.

Surely there is a club in Europe somewhere who would pay loads more than the Leopards can afford?

  • ‘and the legendary Jorrie Muller’ hehe.
Part of the infamous Straueli 2003 Bok team, what a useless bunch they were.

Not when he’s injured 95% of the time, literally.

  • Unluckiest player ever… I always rated Glassman as a top flyhalf when fit, however rarely that occurred…

  • Always thought Pretorius should’ve been a fullback, especially towards the end of his Springbok career… but that’s just me.

  • @Richard Ferguson (Comment 16) : There is huge potential for a Whackhead call in there.

I wonder how Andre Pretorius would react if he got a call from Glasfit telling him that they would love to sponsor him because everyone considers him to be made of glass. :)

With Pretorius having that East Rand look about him, I’m sure he goes from calm to “FJELN!!” In 5 seconds

So who’s emailing Whackhead with the idea?

  • I’d like to wish Sharks Currie Cup winner Andre Pretorius all the best.

Jorrie Muller doesn’t strike me as coaching material tho. I hope the Leopards made a wise choice and he proves to be good at his job.
