The Waratahs have lined up warm up matches against international teams Samoa and Tonga over the next three weeks, in a bid to get their players ready for the physical challenge of the SupeRugby campaign.
The team will face Samoa in Tamworth on Friday, 3 February and then Tonga in Sydney two weeks later, Friday 17 February.
This will give the team an ideal opportunity to give the entire squad a run, including new recruit Sarel Pretorius, which the team is very excited about. Another new recruit, attacking back Adam Ashley-Cooper will make his Waratah debut after spending his time with the Brumbies.

This could be heartbreaking!!
I can see the coach cringe with every big hit put in.. This could favour the other teams actually!
they are crazy, pure and simple.
@robdylan (Comment 2) :
Agreed..
I would rather play a Northern Hemisphere team, seeing as they are prepping for Six Nations…
Insane
@JarsonX (Comment 4) : in the membrane…
Not THAT bad really.
Didn’t the Rebels play Tonga twice in warm-ups last season?
Considering the fact that the Tuilagi tribe are all in Europe and that any Samoan or Tongan who are HALF decent are either also in Europe, NZ or Aus then these teams will be no stronger than a VC side.
And to emphasise that go and look at the Rebels’ results against Tonga last year.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 6) : ja, but generally it’s the kak players who like to fight
@robdylan (Comment 7) : Flip and ain’t THAT the truth.
Will the IRB have a gum-gaurd inspector on hand during these matches?
Its like a warm up match against the Kings
