The Highlanders will be starting the Super Rugby season without a few key players as their list of injured players continues to grow the closer we get to the start of the tournament.
The latest casualties are centre Kendrick Lynn and wing Kade Poki. Lynn has been ruled out for at least two months, with Poki in a race against time to be fit for the opening match against the Chiefs.
The other walking wounded are flyhalf Colin Slade, who is recovering from an off-season operation, this after missing most of 2011 with a broken jaw (twice broken), captain Jamie Mackintosh, lock Josh Bekhuis and centres Shaun Treeby and Siale Piutau.
Piutau’s leg is apparently still in a cast after an operation on a tendon in his ankle, and it is still not known how long the popular centre will be out for.
The Highlanders come off a bad loss to the Crusaders last week, going down 47 – 19, leaking seven tries on the night.Tweet
