Apart from the South African teams being involved in friendlies this weekend, there were four other games that might be worth a bit of interest. Here are the results:

The Crusaders beat the Hurricanes 19 – 8 in their match, after leading 12 – 3 at half time. Patrick Osborne and Luke Romano crossed the line for the Saders while Beauden Barrett scored late in the game to give the score some credibility.

The Chiefs and the Highlanders played out a thrilling high scoring encounter. The Chiefs lead the game 31 – 10 at one point, but the Highlanders showed amazing determination to end on 38 – 36, narrowly losing out to the men from Hamilton.

The Reds and the Brumbies faced off in an all Australian derby, with the Reds managing to score four tries to the one by the Brumbies, beating the Canberra outfit 27 – 20. James Horwil and Digby Ioane were amongst the tries for the Reds, while the boot of Nic White kept the Brumbies in the game.

The Blues had to dig deep against the Rebels, after being down 7 – 18 at half time, the Blues had to rally to beat the Melbourne based Rebels by 31 – 21. Rudi Wulf dotted down twice for the Blues while Cooper Vuna and Mark Gerrard got the Rebels off to a great first half.
