The Lions forward stock has been boosted ahead of their first round clash with the Cheetahs. Springboks CJ van der Linde and Wikus van Heerden, as well as Franco van der Merwe could be fit in time to take on the men from Bloemfontein.
Van Heerden has recovered from what was a knee injury, van der Linde had a hernia removed from his groin in the off season, and van der Merwe has recovered from an eye injury, and all three have started training with the team and should be available for selection for this weekend’s first match.
The only other injury on the Lions card is Bandise Maku, who is out for the entire season after an operation to fix up his shoulder. His spot in the run on team should be taken by Callie Visagie, with Martin Bezuidenhout and Edgar Marutlulle fighting for the spot on the bench.

Great news !!
Excellent news ! , now they must just stay away from windows the lot of them

Pretty much full strength other than Waylon,Maku and Dylan.
Yes great news, CJ played a monster game in the Final last year and Wickus and Franco are irreplaceable in the Lions team
@Mutley (Comment 3) :

Its imperative we win our first game…The return of these guys are huge …just hope they not rushed.
