The final Super Rugby match of the weekend sees us heading up to Loftus, where a very impressive Bulls outfit will be hoping to go three from three and continue their great start to the season.
The Blues have had a tough couple of weeks, facing and losing to the Crusaders on opening weekend, and then coming undone to a Chiefs outfit that we saw yesterday will be a team worth taking note of.
They are yet to record a victory this season, but it seems they will have to wait until after their tour of South Africa as they face the Stormers next weekend. The Bulls will be too strong for the men from Auckland, and will continue to dominate the South African conference.

@Big Fish (Comment 14) :
Last year he was showing some skill and intencity for sure…
But not this year…been poor physically…had too many throwin mistakes…had good moments but just as many bad moments in general play…

Bulls with stern defense, blues knock on…
JJ on, Venter off
Bulls will be found out tonight ..the slipper is well and truly on the castle steps !
If the Blues can hang on here, I will be the one laughing, got some heavy flak for backing them on SuperBru
The 2nd time meisiekind is penalized holding the ball….
CJ Stander penalized, PK blues, 48 meters,
missed
@Die Kriek (Comment 55) :
I got them on bru by 10 … truth is the Bulls have not been tested yet ..A Sharks team 1st up at home ..2 points and a kak Cheetahs team .. by plenty …

Gr8 skill by Kichner to keep that ball in …
@csb (Comment 61) : Lucky to get away with not getting called a knock
great call by Walsh to penalise Krusty even if the crowd and Stranky are to dense to realise that Walsh had it spot on.
PK, Krusty in from the side
Bulls 11 – 23 Blues
58 min
@Franshark (Comment 62) : @KSA Shark © (Comment 63) :
Spotted …a dire Blues side now leads 23-11 after arriving this week from far far away … is Spies playing ? oh and has Springbok Timotei passed yet …?
Morne miss another
Some front row replacements (2 and 3) for the Bulls…should improve the tight 5 performance…
@KSA Shark © (Comment 63) : I’m fully convinced that all the SuperSport commentators are retarded. Its a given if you want to work for them.
Anscombe miss with PK
Scrums are too important in rugby…almost every 2nd one resulting in a penalty?!!?
@Ben (Comment 68) :
Agreed…all of the are less than poor…
MOVE TEEEEEEEEN!!!!! And Morne just adopts the doggy position!
And then looks shocked when penalised.
Morne still lying on the ball, asking what did I do wrong
PK Anscombe

@KSA Shark © (Comment 72) :
He did look like a bit of a Nataniel Kussing-byter, didn’t he?
Olivier passed !
Morne penalised for not rolling away…he looked surprised even though it seemed like he pulled him onto the tackled player…lucky to only be a penalty imo…
PK slotted taking Ascombe to 26…not a bad first game…
Come Blues no bonus point for the Cows !
Bulls driving mall, has to score 3 times in 10 min, should hurry up if they wanna achieve that

@KSA Shark © (Comment 83) :
But he did let go … imho
@csb (Comment 87)
he did he did
Zane and Walsh making eyes for each other…..
making plans for after the game
Morne not passing when he should have…
Not finding distance with punts…
Very poor at goal kicking…
Less than average in passing ball down the line…

Anscombe PK, 62 meters
Bulls 16 – 29 Blues
78 min
oh yea !
29-16 Blues 78min.
I think meisiekind broke a nail…..
All this damn hype after 2 weeks …crashing down!
Basson try, Ranger jumping on him as he went over, Yellow for Ranger
Spies trying to convince Walsh to give the penalty after, kick for goal
Bulls losing at Floptus. That’s cheered me up. Pity about the bonus point.
Morne kick the last one over, for bonus point
Bulls 23 – 29 Blues
FULL TIME
There’s going to be SOME discussion around this decision this coming week.
Ranger shoulder charged Basson on the ground after he scored a try. So PK on the half after the restart (ala the 1990 CC final that we won) but you should keep playing if there is a penalty (I’m not sure how you’d handle that after the whistle has gone)
And then some fool Bulls fan tries to come and remonstrate with Mealamu about the issue.
How happy must you peeps be? Morne’s boots were at home today
If an penalty is awarded before time is up then it stands…or am I wrong?
@KSA Shark © (Comment 98) : I’m very surprised that the Bulls weren’t given the penalty. Walsh seemed absolutely sure that he had to end the game… rather too sure for my liking.
Can you email Watson or Bray for clarification? Or maybe ask Stu Berry?
Man, I have a lot of time for Pierre Spies. One of the few Bulls okes who actually sounds sensible and intelligent when speaking in English
@KSA Shark © (Comment 98) :
And it was a small hobo look-a-like…would be smacked around by Mealamu…
@KSA Shark © (Comment 98) :
Like the hundred other dodge calls this weekend …
@robdylan (Comment 101) : I will but on a slightly different tangent on the issue. Why was Spies so adamant on the issue saying “but we NEED the penalty”. They didn’t need the penalty, even without it they got the BP or did he have that little faith in Steyn’s kicking?
@robdylan (Comment 101) :
I agree…if penalty awarded even after the game is up the penalty needs to be awarded…
Thanks Blues. A shame about the bonus point.
@Hmmm (Comment 100) : usually yes, but that is because it is still considered the same play. In this case Walsh seems to think it isn’t considered the same play.
Either way it would not affect anything in the log points or outcome of this game.
@robdylan (Comment 102) : Second that.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 105) :
They could have taken a tap and scored and won??!!?? Who knows…
@KSA Shark © (Comment 105) : You are aware that you can take a tap and go from a penalty, right?
@KSA Shark © (Comment 105) : Come on dude. Are you listening to yourself? Quick tap?
@KSA Shark © (Comment 108) :
They could have scored another try and won…makes a big dif to log points…
@Hmmm (Comment 110) : @Ben (Comment 111) : @klempie (Comment 112) :
All of us having a go!
KSA had a blonde moment everyone!
@Ben (Comment 115) : Or a senile one. Let’s savour the moment, shall we?
@klempie (Comment 116) : Yes and while we are at it. He was wrong. The Blues player did release the tackled player before going for the ball in the 71st minute. I rewinded and double checked!
@Ben (Comment 115) :
No worries KSA…even though you bald its still clear to us that you blond…
@Hmmm (Comment 110) :
@Ben (Comment 111) :
@klempie (Comment 112) :
@Hmmm (Comment 113) :
Bwhahahahahahahhaha OOPS!!!
@klempie (Comment 116) :
KSA cannot type when blushing…
@KSA Shark © (Comment 108) : accept if they scored a try from it
@Franshark (Comment 121) : Too late!
@Franshark (Comment 121) :
refresh before commenting, others already said that
@Franshark (Comment 123) : Thanks for diverting the attention away from me.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 124) : all ways a pleasure
@ RodD comment 103 – I respect your opinions most of the time, but take offence to “Man, I have a lot of time for Pierre Spies. One of the few Bulls okes who actually sounds sensible and intelligent when speaking in English” -Rod, have you listened to vismark trying to communicate in Eng, have you taken note of some of your regular Afr bloggers trying soo hard to b cool & chat in Eng but missing the cooch, couch? OOR is it acceptable to be isXhosa & sounding like an idiot when talking a second or third language? Does what one sounds like make you intelligent? Vra net, want sjoe, dan is hier n paar dowwe sjarks hier, to, of is dit too?
@diablo (Comment 126) : ja, maar ten minste is hulle ONS doffies
Seriously, hun… don’t get so worked up. It was actually really meant to be a sincere comment about how well your favourite player speaks English.
Never claimed Pierra as my favourite player – love the throphy, though. No harm done – point made & taken.
@robdylan (Comment 127) : @diablo (Comment 128) : In all seriousness though, I can accept that English is not everyone’s first language, but unions should realise that any of their players could be called up to speak, and will by extension be representing the union, and should therefore send all contracted players on a basic Toastmasters course. I used to cringe on behalf of the Sharks when Henno Mentz won man of the match awards and had to say something…
I see Rene Ranger earned himself a 2 week suspension .. lucky for me .. he is in my FL team …
