A number of tweets have confirmed that the Sharks tour squad has arrived safely in Sydney, where they will stay for the better part of the next fortnight as they prepare for games against the Waratahs and Brumbies.
As is generally the case, the team has opted to establish themselves in a single location – and will make the three-hour journey to Canberra by bus ahead of next weekend’s Brumbies game, rather than relocate to the sleepy capital after playing the Tahs. The Sharks have always prided themselves on having a good time on tour, rather than sitting in their rooms moping about missing family back home and the bright lights of Sydney generally lend themselves more to that sort of thing than Canberra would, where there’s frankly nothing going on at all.
As reported yesterday, only 23 players left Durban, with an extra lock and prop likely to fly out in the next 24 hours to meet up with the squad ahead of Saturday’s clash, which kicks off at the somewhat anti-social hour of 06h35 (SA time). With only 10 fit forwards currently in the group, the Sharks are going to have to pull out all the stops to field a competitive pack against the Waratahs this weekend.
Here is the list of players currently on tour:
