Former Sharks flank Justin Downey will start in the number 7 jersey for the Cheetahs as they face the Crusaders in Christchurch this weekend.
The former Northwood pupil comes in to replace Davon Raubenheimer, in one of three changes to the pack that played (and won) against the Rebels on Sunday. Lourens Adriaanse and Trevor Nyakane also come into the starting lineup, relegating last week’s props Coenie Oosthuizen and WP Nel to the bench and the hotel respectively.
Andries Ferreira comes onto the bench for Downey, with Raubenheimer also left out of the 22 altogether. The back line remains unchanged.
Cheetahs: 15 Hennie Daniller, 14 Cameron Jacobs, 13 Robert Ebersohn, 12 Andries Strauss (vc), 11 Willie le Roux, 10 Johan Goosen, 9 Tewis de Bruyn, 8 Philip van der Walt, 7 Justin Downey, 6 Heinrich Brussow, 5 Izak van der Westhuizen, 4 George Earl, 3 Lourens Adriaanse, 2 Adriaan Strauss (captain), 1 Trevor Nyakane.
Replacements: 16 Hercu Liebenberg, 17 Coenie Oosthuizen, 18 Andries Ferreira, 19 Ashley Johnson, 20 Piet van Zyl, 21 Sias Ebersohn, 22 Rayno Benjamin.

Really can’t see why they are starting Tewis ahead of Piet van Zyl.
Is this a case of we know we’re going to lose so let’s field a B team attitude from the Cheetahs? Wasn’t it them who did it previously as well?
George earl and Downey both durban boys?
AJ on the bench?
@Talent (Comment 3) : cheetahs getting their own back, eh?
@robdylan (Comment 4) :
FFS! I had just used up a trade to get WP into my fl team!
@Die Kriek (Comment 7) : why on earth would you trade in a player, especially a prop, props don’t score to many points, who is not going to make it into the play-offs anyway?
So you have to trade him OUT again later.
