The Reds continue to bow to the incredible form of their best player – Mr Injury. As we pointed out over the weekend, following their loss to the Stormers this weekend, both Sam Lane and Ben Tapuai have been ruled out for a significant time thanks to their respective knee and shoulder injuries.

According to Superxv.com, they welcome back a player that has not been able to incur any injuries, seeing as he was suspended. Digby Ioane becomes available for the Reds this week, and I will bet my house that he will get selected straight into the starting lineup, whether it is on the wing or in midfield.

It has been confirmed that Sam Lane will have to have knee reconstruction, which rules him out of the season, for the second season in a row. Ben Tapuai has a broken collarbone, which sees him missing the next ten weeks of rugby, meaning that he will only play should the Reds make the playoffs.

More bad news for the team is that lock Van Humphries will miss this week’s clash with the Blues due to an arm injury picked up against the Stormers, while there is some silver lining with Quade Cooper on track for a return to rugby in Round 12 of the competition, in time to face the Chiefs.
