More bad news for the Stormers surfaced last night with the news that Nick Koster is on his way home following a recurring knee niggle that has flared up on the tour.

Rugby365.com reports that the very knee that kept Koster out of action for more a year previously, has been aggravated on tour, and even though the injury has been managed, it was decided to send the player home in an effort to fully recover.

Koster’s injury adds to the loose forward injuries currently hanging over the Stormers, with Schalk Burger out from that first game of the season, and the latest loss being Duane Vermeulen who has been ruled out for a few months.

It is still unknown whether a replacement player will be sent to Australia, but it is expected that Nizaam Carr will take Koster’s place in the loose trio, with Elstadt and Kolisi.

  • This is the point in the season where things start getting interesting for the Stormers. Duane Vermeulen is a huge loss to them

  • Well the good news for the Stormers is that they only have the Force left on tour so they should be okay in the short term.
