The Stormers have been forced into a number of changes to their team to face the Force this weekend, after losing Duane Vermeulen, Gio Aplon and Nick Koster to injury. The return of Andries Bekker though, will see him the lead the team.

In the front row, Brok Harris and Frans Malherbe continue to rotate, while Scarra Ntubeni joins the bench to cover hooker, with Deon Fourie covering the loose trio. Nizaam Carr gets a start in place of Vermeulen, with flown in cover Don Armand securing a spot on the bench.

In the backline, Habana will continue in midfield, with Danie Poolman taking over from Gio Aplon on the wing, with Berton Francis sitting between Schreuder and du Plessis on the bench as backline cover.

Stormers: 15. Joe Pietersen, 14. Gerhard van den Heever, 13. Bryan Habana, 12. Juan de Jongh, 11. Danie Poolman, 10. Peter Grant, 9. Dewaldt Duvenage, 8. Nizaam Carr, 7. Rynhardt Elstadt, 6. Siya Kolisi, 5. Andries Bekker (captain), 4. De Kock Steenkamp, 3. Frans Malherbe, 2. Tiaan Liebenberg, 1. Steven Kitshoff

Substitutes: 16. Scarra Ntubeni, 17. Brok Harris, 18. Don Armand, 19. Deon Fourie, 20. Louis Schreuder, 21. Burton Francis, 22. JP du Plessis

  • I’m pleased for Carr. He’s been biding his time on the bench.

Let’s bring on the pain and destroy the Farce!!

  • Stormers could play their D team and still win. They have a winning momentum now, a great coach and the players play for each other and tackle like they’re actually proud of the jersey they wear. And in no way is this an insult to the Sharks

  • Think they could`ve given some of their bokke a break for this one. Surely this is overkill for the Force?

  • @Original Pierre (Comment 5) : Yep . Force: 2 wins from 8 games. 17 points. Worse than even the Sharks and the Cheetahs, and they’re not even the worst Aussie team. More proof that the Australian conference is the laughing stock of the tournament.
