Difficult weekend for punters

Round 13 of Super Rugby is upon us, and we have quite a few tricky games to select from, so think with your head and not your heart. The odds are higher in the closer games for a reason, so don’t get caught out. Let’s take a look at what Marshalls World of Sport have on offer for us this weekend.

We start the weekend in New Zealand, where the Hurricanes host the Brumbies. The Hurricanes have been in great from these last few weeks, and we should see them beating Brumbies, quite comfortably actually.

Hurricanes – 13/20
Brumbies – 14/10

The second game of the weekend is on Saturday morning, where the Highlanders host the Bulls. This game could really go either way, and as the odds suggest, it will be tight. My gut tells me the Highlanders will sneak in against the Bulls, but I have to advise on taking only a single bet here if you have a very strong feeling about the game.

Highlanders – 1/1
Bulls – 9/10

The third straight New Zealand game, and a NZ derby match as well, has the Crusaders host the Blues in Christchurch. The Crusaders should be far too strong for a Blues outfit that has battled for any sort of form or continuity this season.

Crusaders – 3/10
Blues – 33/10

The Reds take on the Lions in what is the easiest game of the weekend to call. Add into doubles and multiples to give yourself that little bit of a stretch.

Reds – 1/10
Lions – 10/1

The first of two rather big games in South Africa, and the only SA derby of the weekend, sees the Sharks travel to Bloemfontein to take on the Cheetahs. This match is a tough one to call, and don’t let your heart rule your wallet in this case. I have a feeling the Sharks might just win this one, they have all the momentum and a lot to play for.

Cheetahs – 13/10
Sharks – 7/10

The other South African game this weekend is at Newlands, where the Stormers face the Waratahs. Now many would think this would be a walk in the park for the Stormers, but I am not so sure they are going to dominate their Australian opponents. I would be careful in this match.

Stormers – 2/10
Waratahs – 4/1

The last game this weekend is a snoozefest in Australia, where tweedle dee is taking on tweedle dum, I mean the Force are hosting the Rebels. Don’t waste your money, either team can decide to pitch on the day. Personally, if I HAD to bet on this game, I’d say the Rebels will take it, but by something ridiculous like 3 points.

Force – 1/1
Rebels – 9/10
