The only way is UP!

I have some encouraging news for Sharks fans; the team is currently as low on the Super Rugby log as they’re going to get!

It’s not really that great, I guess, since we’re lying in a lowly eighth spot at the moment, but with the Highlanders now having played all 16 of their games and failing to overtake us, the Sharks can be assured that in 2012, at least, they’ll do better than the worst finish of the John Plumtree era, ninth in the 2010 Super 14!

All the other sides currently below the Sharks are more than ten points worse off, meaning that even if each of those sides were to pick up two bonus-point wins (and the Sharks lose both their remaining matches), none could overtake them.

The Sharks, in other words, can only improve on their current log position. Way hey!

I forgot that the Landers get 4 points next week.
