Four boys from KwaZulu Natal schools – three of them from Kearsney College – have been named in a 28-man SA Schools squad to play again England, Wales and France next month.

Bulls and Affies prop Pierre Schoeman will captain the side, with Baby Bok wünderkind, WP flyhalf Handre Pollard named as his deputy. The Bulls have by far the most individual representatives in the squad, with 9.

Former Bok scrumhalf Robert du Preez’s twin sons, Jean-Luc and Daniel, have both been included, along with schoolmate Sandile Khubeka, who shone at inside centre for the KZN team at Craven Week. The fourth KZN representative is Maritzburg College’s Jesse Kriel.

Unfortunately, the Sharks are unlikely to profit much from these selections, at least not in 2013. The du Preez brothers will still be at school next year, while Kriel has already committed his future to the Bulls. It’s not known at this stage whether Khubeka will continue his career with the Sharks next year.

  • Anyone know if any of the other boys named in the team signed for the sharks?

  • @Ludz (Comment 5) : let’s hope he grows some… Sharks are a little short of 2m+ locks.

Although that Tucker kid is a beast. How did he play on Friday, Ludz?
