The tail of woe that is the senior career of promising WP prop JC Kritzinger continues.
Kritzinger, who has missed the bulk of the last three seasons as the result of successive knee injuries, went over on his ankle in training and has had to be withdrawn from the bench for his side’s Currie Cup game against the Sharks on Saturday.
Kritzinger was one of two props on the bench and with Province suffering from a serious shortage amongst their lock and loose forward ranks, it remains to be seen who they will opt to bring into the squad as cover. It’s unlikely that yet another prop will be called up, but their simply aren’t any quality utility forwards left either, with under 21 captain Wilhelm van der Sluys already co-opted into the Currie Cup group as a last resort.
Allister Coetzee will confirm his rejigged bench later today.Tweet
