The All Blacks can rest a little easier ahead of their first Rugby Championship match against Australia this weekend, as Sonny Bill Williams has been cleared to play International rugby before joining his Japanese club.
Sport24.com reports that Williams’ new club, the Panasonic Wild Knights, will allow the player to delay his start at the club, to play for the All Blacks in the first two tests in the Rugby Championship, both games against Australia, before reporting for duty in Japan.
Williams will take the place of Conrad Smith in the All Blacks team, who is injured at the moment, but should be ready to take his place in the team for the All Blacks’ clash against Argentina in September.
