A super Saturday of rugby continues, with the first Currie Cup match for the day seeing Western Province travel to Kimberley to tackle a fresh faced Griquas outfit.
Griquas have been forced into a shuffle in the backline, following the loss of three players, two to injury and another to suspension, with pivot Francois Brummer moving to fullback and Marnitz Boshoff getting a run at flyhalf.
Western Province were forced into a late shuffle of their own, with Tiaan Liebenberg getting the call up to the national side and Deon Fourie going to his ‘other’ preferred position of hooker. The backline also sees a host of changes, with Dewaldt Duvenhage rested, Burton Francis injured and replaced by the Kings-bound Demetri Catrakilis and rookie Ederies Arendse getting a spot on the wing.
All in all, both teams will be desperate for their first win of the season, but I fancy Western Province will be just too strong for the men from Kimberley. But don’t rule out an upset!

Kimberley’s pitch is always awful, but that is what makes it so difficult to win there. I hope Griquas win this. Maybe, just maybe, they will be able to finish 5th this season.
