Australia is set to get a new captain for their second clash against the All Blacks this Saturday, with news filtering through that David Pocock requires surgery to his troublesome knee, and that the flanker will miss the clash.

News24.com reports that the Australian captain requires keyhole surgery to the articular cartilage in his right knee, an injury he picked up against the All Blacks, where he played through the pain.

Vice-captain Will Genia is set to take over the captaincy while Pocock is a ruled out, a time frame which will be determined with the completion of the operation.

Australia lost 27 – 19 at home to the All Blacks and now face the daunting task of crossing the Tasman to face the mighty World Champions in Auckland.
