Bulls hoping for injuries to clear

The Bulls face the Sharks at Loftus this Saturday, and will be hoping that their captain, Dewald Potgieter, will actually take the field of play.

Potgieter was named to start the game against the Cheetahs last weekend, but missed out due to a thigh injury that would just not clear. As of Monday, the captain is yet to train and it will take a late fitness surge to get him in the starting fifteen for the all important clash.

Another loose forward, Arno Botha, looks set to be available for selection having recovered from the injury that kept him out of the Cheetahs clash. Botha will have to pass a fitness test on Wednesday to confirm his involvement against the Sharks.

Following reports last week that Johann Sadie only missed out on selection against the Cheetahs due to coach Pine Pienaar not wanting to unsettle his backline, it will be interesting to see whether he does in fact get a run this week. Sadie missed out on selection last week, which was explained as a consistency in selection policy, and that Sadie will get game time this week.

With Sadie leaving for the Cheetahs at the end of the season, and current centres Francois Venter, Ulrich Beyers and Jan Serfontein impressing, it is difficult to find space for the ex-WP centre.

In other news, Boks Pierre Spies and Chiliboy Ralapelle are still eight and four weeks respectively away from taking to the field, meaning that Chiliboy could still see some action during the Rugby Championship for the Green and Gold.
