The Bulls team to face the Lions at Loftus this weekend has been announced, with coach Pine Pienaar making two changes to his starting line-up.

The enforced change is in the loose trio where Warwick Tecklenburg replaces Deon Stegmann, who has a broken arm and will take no further part in this Currie Cup season.

The other change is in midfield, where Francois Venter comes back into the starting team after missing out last week, with Jan Serfontein, who replaced him late in the day last Saturday, returning to the U21 side.

On the bench, Bongi Mbonambi returns to the 16 jersey, while Jean Cook sits on the bench in place of Tecklenburg, as Arno Botha has not recovered from injury.

Blue Bulls: 15 Clayton Blommetjies, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 Johann Sadie, 12 Francois Venter, 11 JJ Engelbrecht, 10 Louis Fouche, 9 Ruan Snyman, 8 Dewald Potgieter (captain), 7 CJ Stander, 6 Warwick Tecklenburg, 5 Grant Hattingh, 4 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Willie Wepener, 1 Dawie Steyn

Substitutes: 16 Bongi Mbonambi, 17 Frik Kirsten, 18 Cornell Hess, 19 Jean Cook, 20 Rudy Paige, 21 Lionel Cronje, 22 Jurgen Visser

  • another broken arm. Stegman & Potgieter have had a tough year this year with injuries. Don’t make them like they used to
