Blue Bulls coach Pine Pienaar has included released Bok tourists Jacques Potgieter and Jano Vermaak in his starting team for Saturday’s mist-win Currie Cup match against the Cheetahs.
Potgieter comes back into his familiar blindside flank position, displacing Ireland-bound CJ Stander to the bench, while Vermaak takes over at scrumhalf from Rudi Paige, who’s been dropped so far and fast that his head is still spinning. Other changes this week see Morne Mellet and Franco Mostert come in for the first time this season, in place of the injured Dawie Steyn and Grant Hattingh respectively.
An unenforced change sees Arno Botha come into the loose trio at the expense of Warrick Tecklenberg, who also misses out completely this week.
Bulls: 15 Jürgen Visser, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 JJ Engelbrecht, 12 Francois Venter, 11 Sampie Mastriet, 10 Louis Fouchè, 9 Jano Vermaak, 8 Arno Botha, 7 Jacques Potgieter, 6 Dewald Potgieter (captain), 5 Franco Mostert, 4 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Willie Wepener, 1 Mornè Mellett
