Go Lions!!!!
Go Sharks!!!!!!!
Go Sharks!!!!
Any of you guys know where I can stream the game? I’m in London so can’t use Supersport
Go Sharks!!!!
From a cool and breezy dam…
So once again useless piece of crap Sky can´t bother to even show the game on the red button.
Hmmm…sparky start by the kitties.
@klempie (Comment 7) : Sky is showing it but via streaming, showing last years currie cup final instead
Hmmm…sparky start by the Sharks.
At Coca Cola park…great atmosphere…very alive around the stadium…a lot of activity…
Wow…how did they screw that up? A number of chances go abegging due to poor decision making. Eventually, Viljoen (looked like) gives up and puts a high ball into the opposite corner, but Botes is ruled ahead of the kicker.
Viljoen going from 56m in front. Short and wide.
Lions sending ball wide on a few occasions…but called back for forward pass each time…
Keegs having a stonking game already.
Was storming weather and hail but still a good crowd…esp on the upper levels…
The Sharks are looking really sharp this week. Set pieces working well.
Twice the Sharks had a chance and twice Mvovo could not get the ball out to the open players…although the second time was a tough chance…
Sharks at 5m
Shit….Chadwick isolates himself and holds on.
Very poor call from the touchy on the main stand side…last feet of that ruck was in 22 and the ball bounced inside the field…
Turnover was pure justice…
Mvovo put in a strong tackle…
@Hmmm (Comment 20) : Ball was in the ruck outside of the 22.
Come on Sharks!!!
Penalty Lions. Chadwick scrumming in.
@Hmmm (Comment 21) : Dude, no-one cares about your anti-Mvovo tripe. Really, you are being silly in your corner there.
Lions seem to be dominating the scrums…dif to see from the stadium exactly what’s going on though…lol
Lions 3 – 0 Sharks
18 mins
Extremely against the run of play…
Scrum penalty slotted…
Lions 3 – 0 Sharks
@CapeShark (Comment 25) :
Penalty Sharks from the KO. One the Lions got in the way. Bosman lining up.
@CapeShark (Comment 25) : Not sure what you on about…silly
In the centre, Mr Venter.
Lions 3 – 3 Sharks
20 mins.
Anybody have a stream?
Bosman slots penalty from kick-off…
Lions 3 – 3 Sharks
@Hmmm (Comment 31) : We just like giving you shit.
@rhineshark (Comment 33) : Looking too, but so far no luck
Great speed there by Callie Visagie to cut off Keegs…
Skew lineout from Lions.
Sharks have scrum deep about 15m out.
@klempie (Comment 38) : Holy shit…our scrum just got demolished!
Sharks murdered in the scrum…JC is a scrumming machine…
@klempie (Comment 39) : Told you we need to sign Janse van Rensburg as a backup for the super 15.
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 36) : Annoying. Will let you know immediately if I find one, but not looking promising.
Lions starting to come back now.
@rhineshark (Comment 33) : According to sky it’s on line but can’t get it to work. Radio 2000 and RSG not broadcasting either
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 41) : When?
@rhineshark (Comment 42) : Ive tried all the usual places and nothing…
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 41) :
As a back up? LoL
Lions yet to penetrate Sharks’ 22.
@klempie (Comment 45) : Well, apart from just now… I think it was after the last time he humiliated the sharks front row.
Lions into 22 for the first time.
@Hmmm (Comment 47) : Exactly. He wont beat out jannie or Beast, but would be awesome to bring on with 20 to play!! or in case of injury
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 49) : Certainly wasn’t to me though….
Sharks off their feet, and Jantjies will take a penalty form 35m out in front.
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 41) :
Just a mention…the Aus stated that the Lions had the scrum moving forward most in S15
@durbsguy (Comment 44) : It´s not often that I wish I lived in the UK, but at times like this I get weak…
Lions 6 – 3 Sharks
27 mins
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 46) : Same here.
Oh FFS Burden!!
Lions seem to be dominating ruck time too….
Another ruck penalty to the Lions…slotted
Lions 6 – 3 Sharks
@rhineshark (Comment 55) : Crazy talk…
@Hmmm (Comment 59) : We should be 24-6 up already.
Penalty. van der Merwe offsides at the ruck. Simple chip for Meyer.
@klempie (Comment 60) : Just shows how frustrating it is.
Sharks get penalty in 22…Bosman going for poles
Lions 6 – 6 Sharks
30 mins
@Hmmm (Comment 54) : True, but there is more to a props play than just the set scrum.
@klempie (Comment 61) :
Nope…Lions cut you down everytime…just before the last pass or score…
@Hmmm (Comment 67) :
Just as I send that Keegs breaks through and Odwa scores…
TRY ODD ONE!!!
That was a 90m team try. Ludik took the ball 10m from his line to the 22m. Mvovo to halfway, Keegs to the 5m line. Ruck formed, went to Odwa and over.
Kick missed…
Lions 6 – 11 Sharks
@Hmmm (Comment 67) : Really?
Lions have a lineout in our 22 for the first time.
@klempie (Comment 72) : Skew and the Sharks choose a lineout. Didn’t know you could do that.
Aanhouer wen.
Don´t worry about what the link´s called – it´s the rugga!
http://cricfree.tv/live-golf-streaming-ch2.php
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Nice play by the Lions in their own 22.
Friends kids getting busy and excited here at stadium…check in later…
I like Reinach.
@klempie (Comment 77) :
And just as I say that, he makes a try out of nothing!
What a try Reinach!!
@rhineshark (Comment 79) : I think Charl is going to find it tough winning his place back.
Meyer misses the conversion.
HT Lions 6 – 16 Sharks
@klempie (Comment 80) : For sure. He´s on fire that boytjie!
Weird how life works. In 2010 McLeod was the best scrummie in SA. Today he´s on the bench for a noob. Count ya blessings peeps!
@rhineshark (Comment 82) : He’s got something Hougaardy electric about him, but he doesn’t run away from support like Hougaard does.
@klempie (Comment 83) : JIP, he´s solid to boot. Much quicker from the base than Hougaard and his option-taking is spot on. I like Hougaard as well. I know it´s early days for Reinach, but we could do worse than with those two as our Bok scrummies.
It just seems as though Reinach needs to work on on his long range passing.
Besides that, he’s pretty spectacular
I like Reinach as well, he is a nippy little bugger
Will this be the first time in 3 years in any form of rugby that the Sharks win at Coca Cola park?
Here’s the second half.
Ruan Combrinck tacking thin air :p
Just like the Supersport we know. The best matchup of the day and they cant even have basic updates
@Hmmm (Comment 87) : shhhhhhhhhh….you’ll jinx it. Or is that the intention?
@rhineshark (Comment 74) : You are the man!!!
HAHAHAHAHA. Out on the full after it was taken back, and Sharks have a lineout on the 22.
@JarsonX (Comment 90) : What’s wrong with mine?
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 92) : My wife also thinks so.
Penalty Lions…looks like a Shark was ahead of the kicker.Jantjies will get a dolly.
Botes needs to work on his discipline. Two stupid penalties in a row.
Cant believe Bosman missed 2 kicks.. must be the most all season
Lions 9 – 16 Sharks
46 mins
Lions yet to get into the Sharks 22.
Forward pass missed by the ref, and the next ruck the Lions get a penalty.
Was it just me or did Jafta just miss a shocker forward pass
Another kickable penalty. We are not doing enough of the playing.
Jantjies from 42m to the left of the poles.
Ref picking on the sharks and missing foward passes
Haal v Viljoen af!
Lions 12 – 16 Sharks
50 mins
Shocker… poor decision by the ref.
Why can’t the Lions play like this in Super Rugby? They save the scintillating rugby for the CC.
Lions into the 22 for the first time.
Deysel offsides.
Lions running us off our feet.
Sharks bleeding penalties. Pretty poor discipline. Letting the Lions right back into the game
Jantjies slots the penalty.
Lions 15 – 16 Sharks
53 mins
@rhineshark (Comment 112) : did you find a link in the end
So far in the second half 9-0 to the Lions. WAKE UP SHARKS!!!
What a pity!! Great work Keegan. Try would have been just the ticket
Penalty advantage Sharks. Keegs nearly puts away Reinach. Back to the penalty which should go over.
Another opportunity blown…
Meyer puts it over.
Lions 15 – 19 Sharks
56 mins
Keegan is having a mind blowing game.
Jantjies didn’t release Ludik after a tackle in his own 22. Penalty.
another great break, breaks down.
Over.
Lions 15 – 22 Sharks
58 mins
When we run the ball we look the bizniz. What was with all the bloody kicking?
well done Meyer… Keep up the pressure
22-15
@rhineshark (Comment 125) : Dude you’re preaching to the choir! Watch Super rugby 2013. We will start with kicking game, and realise halfway through the season that we should run it and then scrape into the playoffs in 6th position.
@klempie (Comment 128) : Read Plum will start with kicking game.
@klempie (Comment 128) : Too true. Every year´s starting modus operandi.
I still think it’s funny that Burden is a retreaded wing!
For how long Meyer can still ignore Ludick I don´t know.
@rhineshark (Comment 130) : More frustrating than living in Germany and having kak rugby streams.
Reinach off.
Lions close!!
Sharks need to hold out here.
Penalty for holding … not rolling by lions … go figure
Oh dear 3 points straight back. Poor play by the sharks
Penalty Lions. Sharks offsides.
@klempie (Comment 133) : It´s frustrating paying for Sky and not getting what you pay for. I am more than willing to splash out for a dedicated online rugby channel, but ridiculous rights issues mean I have to become a pirate viewer. Fuck them all.
Lions 18 – 22 Sharks
65 mins
@rhineshark (Comment 140) : But not as frustrating as the gameplans the Sharks management select at the outset of each Super Rugby campaign.
Take Viljoen off Plumtree!!!!
@klempie (Comment 142) : NOTHING is that frustrating.
@rhineshark (Comment 143) : Do we have any replacements left?
Nice steal Meyer.
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 145) : Bench has been cleared according to commentators.
Combrink scores in the corner.
And we give away a try because some numbnut kicked the ball away while we were on attack.
2 knockons , a man infront of the kicker ad a try to the lions
@klempie (Comment 148) : No wait. Jafta has called on the TMO to look for a knock-on.
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 145) : No idea.
Looks fine to me.
Geez Jafta. Drag it out why don’t ya.
Even if he didn´t knock that ball, the player who played it immediately after came from an offside position.
am I watching a different game to the TV ref
Conversion missed.
Lions 23 – 22 Sharks
70 mins
@rhineshark (Comment 155) : Agree with that.
Still, if we don´t win this we´ll have only ourselves to blame.
Kruger scores after Sharks fumbling. That is a QUICK flanker!
Conversion missed.
Lions 28 – 22 Sharks
73 mins.
We need to score NOW!!!
dale chadwick to get killed on here…
I don’t understand why Reinach was taken off.
Jantjies is the difference between the sides. Really adds a lot of value to the Lions.
Sharks in the 22.
Great run by Jordaan.
Sharks close!!
13 phases!
18 phases. The Lions steal it and then knock it on.
We had a penalty advantage there that got wasted.
Butch is on for Jantjies.
@klempie (Comment 169) : And still we were too clueless to create an overlap somewhere.
78 mins
Scrum Sharks 7m out.
79 mins
Let´s see if we have some kind of brilliantly thought out backline move for just this occasion.
Of course not – what the hell was I thinking.
Game over. Lions hold Keegan up and it’s a maul.
FT Lions 28 – 22 Sharks
Sorry to say, but we´ve become the Lions´ bitches of late. Oh well, at least we played an entertaining game that we can build on.
Well, that loss was our own fault mainly due to discipline. However, it’s good to see that Plum has got rid of the kicking idea.
@klempie (Comment 180) : Agree, but still too many aimless kicks when running was the better option.
I´m outta here. Cheers dudes!
@Megatron (Comment 163) : No he won’t.
He’ll get a 7 or better in the ratings.
We aren’t allowed to criticise him.
Deysel seems a bit unhappy lately.
Chadwick was his usual average self (his average being way below the average required for a CC player, maybe Rovers can offer him a spot
)
Both Whitehead and Jordaan seems a bit off the boil, last time they were brilliant was with Lambie at FH.
Those 40/60 passes cost us the game, every great break was ruined by some wise Alec throwing the speculative little pass.
Yet again SARU’s worst umps gets a call above a ref Shamefull shit!
@KSA Shark © (Comment 182) : Probably why I’m not having a full go at him
….our very own Dean Greyling, only difference being that Dale wouldn’t even be able to connect the elbow cheap shot, he’ll probably end up knocking one of his own out.
This one was for Wickus. Good job boys
And that’s 5 losses in a row at Ellis Park… Wonderful. Another loss at altitude when we are ahead at half-time. Is it a discipline issue? Or do our players have a problem playing for 80 minutes? This season we either lose after leading at half time or win after trailing at half time. I also don’t understand why Bosman can’t be our fly-half with Whitehead and Jordaan as the center-combo. Or Whitehead-Ludik. We keep on insisting with a full-back as our fly-half. Man, when will Plum learn?
Also, Jaftha is a horrible referee.
In case anyone’s interested, SA have France on the ropes in the World Baseball Classic. That’s the World Cup of baseball.
http://web.worldbaseballclassic.com/wbc/2013/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2012_09_21_rsaint_fraint_1&mode=gameday
What an awesome game… I have to commend the sharks for their part in this. It was a wonderfully entertaining game. You guys are a bit harsh on your team and I would love it if our guys can bolster (if anyone would be honest enough to acknowledge that the lions player do have a certain quality?) Your squad in next year’s S15. I like the Shark’s style of play and it is definitely the only SA team (apart from the Lions of course) that I like watching. You guys had this game in the bag and it took a gutsy effort to beat them… The Sharks have no reason to feel aggrieved after putting up a display like tonight… Your player depth is remarkable. If not the Lions, I hope the Sharks win the cup… Oh.. Btw… I believe after tonight, that Keegan is a must for the boks against Aus. Not the Kiwis but his game is perfect for the sheep-shaggers, he had a blinder!
@klempie (Comment 188) : SA qualify for next round….where we will in all likelihood have our asses handed to us, but well done anyway.
And I guess Coca Cola park is a bougy field for the Sharks of late…what’s that now…7 straight losses at the Coke tin…
Wasa a great game…both teams left some points on the field…but also made great play…
Loosies in this game was fast…we all know the pace of Botes and Whitely…but Keegan showed great pace to also catch the Lions 11 Combrink…and Kriel from the Lions showed great pace to leave Odwa in his dust…
@Hmmm (Comment 191) :
Just 4… Last time we won was in 2009. We lost in 2010, 2011 (twice including the final) and 2012 now.
However, we have only managed to beat them twice at Ellis Park in the last 10 years.
@TRF_Ezequiel (Comment 193) :
I was counting Super rugbuy too…
Nah, we drew 30-30 last year in Super Rugby.
FireTheLooser, if a fool made u captain then stripped u of it, when the same fool let johan muller retain the captaincy over john smit, then its no wonder he is looking unhappy.
I really don’t get why Daniel is our captain since returning from the Boks. You appoint a captain for a whole season, plain and simple.
Just want to say what a good game of rugby that was ! Sharks should do their best to get Rhodes back because that guy had a stormer, he is similar to bresler.
Good game Sharks . Pleased with the quality of Rugby the guys played. Mcleods days may be numbered ,he wasn’t great when he came on.
Our general skills are looking very polished, good to see!!
For next week
9. Reinach
10. Bosman
11. Mvovo
12. Whitehead
13. Jordaan
14. Odwa
15. Ludick – who thinks it is fair to have Taute ahead of Ludick at the Boks?? – NOT ME!!!
And whoever thinks that Mcleod was ever worth anything is kidding themselves. He is and always has been a headless chicken at 9….Even in 2010 – difference is he always had perfect front foot ball in that Currie Cup!
Jordaan is a bit of the boil at the moment. He tried the stupid little kick from which the first Lions try resulted. Too many Lions players where the kick landed.
Reinach definately a huge improvement over Mcleod.
Deysel is not really making much distance with ball in hand. He more often than not ends up behind the advantage line.
