In a pretty bizarre case of the wheel turning, Sean Everitt has been able to include four specialist open-side flanks in his Sharks under 21 squad to face Western Province this weekend – whereas just a few weeks back he had none whatsoever and was forced to send an SOS to out-of-favour Bulls player Murray Bondesio.
Both Chris Cloete and Khaya Majola have recovered from their various ailments this week and the return of the former to the starting lineup sees a bit of a reshuffle in the back row, with Francois Kleinhans replacing the injured Guy Alexander at number 8 and Cloete taking over at 6. Majola joins Bondesio on the bench, along with Allan Dell, who return this week after serving out his suspension for a spear tackle against the Cheetahs.
Things amongst the backs are far more settled, with a rotational change at outside centre seeing Jared Meyer start in place of Wandi Mjekevu; not for the first time this season, I might add.
The return of Dell and the increase of the forward replacement compliment from four to five this week mean that both replacement hooker Duan Coertzen and replacement wing Mzo Mbona miss out.
