The Cheetahs team to take on Western Province this weekend has been announced, with both Springboks returning straight to the starting line-up.
Adriaan Strauss and Coenie Oosthuizen are back in the front row, replacing Hercu Liebenberg and Ross Geldenhuys respectively. Strauss takes over the captaincy from Robert Ebersohn, who forms part of the unchanged backline.
The third change to the starting line-up sees Hendro Scholtz return to the side of the scrum, replacing Lappies Labuschagne.
The Cheetahs are currently languishing in fifth place on the Currie Cup log, and can do a lot of damage to the heart of Western Province supporters should they pull off a win this weekend, as they will not only jump into play-off contention, but in all likelihood knock WP out.
Free State Cheetahs: 15 Hennie Daniller, 14 Nico Scheepers, 13 Robert Ebersohn, 12 Andries Strauss, 11 Raymond Rhule, 10 Sias Ebersohn, 9 Sarel Pretorius, 8 Phillip van der Walt, 7 Francois Uys, 6 Hendro Scholtz, 5 Izak van der Westhuizen, 4 Carl Wegner, 3 Coenie Oosthuizen, 2 Adriaan Strauss (Captain), 1 Marcel van der Merwe.
Replacements: 16 Hercu Liebenberg, 17 Ross Geldenhuys, 18 Waltie Vermeuelen, 19 Davon Raubenheimer, 20 Tewis du Bruyn, 21 Phillip Snyman, 22 Rybo Benjamin.
