The Sharks under 21 side were boosted this week by the return to match fitness of at least one of their flyhalf options, ahead of a must-win match against the Leopards at Kings Park on Friday.
The team was rocked by the withdrawal of both Fred Zeilinga and Gavin Hauptfleisch ahead of last week’s game against the Bulls and those losses hurt them, as hey went on to lose by a cricket score. Hauptfleisch is definitely back this week, though, and will partner Hanco Venter amongst the halfbacks, while Zeilinga may play off the bench if he passes a late fitness test.
An interesting positional switch sees Pieter-Stepth du Toit play on the flank this week; the talented 19-year-old switches places with Brendon Groenewald, who moves into the second row. This move allows two loose forwards, Guy Alexander and Khaya Majola, to be included on the bench, along with Allan Dell, who comes back into the number 16 jersey after benching for the senior side last week.
The game kicks off at Kings Park at 4:45pm on Friday.
