Springbok centre Jaque Fourie wants to play for the Springboks at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, and has hinted that he will return to South Africa in the year of the World Cup to fight for his place in the squad.
Fourie spoke to the Keo.co.za website and told them that he has plans to represent the Boks again, but would like to stay in Japan for the next three years, before making a return to South Africa to get a place in the World Cup squad.
Fourie is widely regarded as the best outside centre South Africa have at their disposal, but that statement has to come into question if you consider the level of opposition face for three years. On the positive side, his body will be fresher than any player in South Africa considering that they only play 20 games a season.
Fourie would fit in nicely with the current Springbok setup, outside either Jean de Villiers or Frans Steyn, but I get the feeling that a few outside centres will put up their hands in the next two seasons, which would make Fourie’s return a bit more difficult.Tweet
