After reporting earlier this morning that Waylon Murray might be on his way to the Kings, a Cheetahs player has reportedly signed with the Port Elizabeth side.

Ross Geldenhuys has signed with the Kings if reports doing the rounds on twitter are to be believed. It is rumoured that the prop has signed a one year deal with the Kings, which will see him represent during the Super Rugby season, as well as playing First Division Currie Cup later in the year, before his contract expires.

As we receive confirmation of this, we will update you.

  • @Megatron (Comment 3) : Any names, then the next question – we keep hearing about new Kings signings but what happens to them after SuperRugby, who gets Sykes, Strauss etc (Border/EP/SWD)

  • @Salmonoid (Comment 6) : “No SWD yet” if they can’t cut it, then the won’t be none as i don’t recall seeing boland players in the stormers or pumas players in the bulls or even griffons in the cheetahs.

  • @Megatron (Comment 7) : Hey Im only asking, not questioning the reasoning. I havent seen SWD so have no idea of whats available there. Isnt there bad blood between SWD and EP anyway.
How about the unions the new guys will be playing for after SupeRugby.

  • @Megatron (Comment 5) :

So you have three overseas players in those signings, which one will fall out of the Super Rugby squad?

That is, if SARU stick to their guns?

  • @Salmonoid (Comment 8) : No bad blood at all, in fact there are quite a few youngsters from there bound for the Kings Academy.

@Richard Ferguson (Comment 9) : no idea actually, both Argies played well in RC and Parkes had a good ITM Cup for Auckland…will be a tough call.

  • Players I would invest in Johan Muller (Captain). Tim Sweal(15, 10) Rory Cockett 9…Mark Richards 14…Callie Vissagie(2), Devon Raubenheimer(7), Elstad(4/8), Micheal Rhodes(5,7,8), scarra ntubeni(2) stokkies Hanekom(13 Swd). Howard(13 14 WP) and players like Lane(Brumbies) also I would look to Ronnie Cook(13) and some other players like Micheal Claasen to mix in experience. Brummer 10 and Louis Fouche 10 also very good 10′s

  • @BoerSeun (Comment 12) : your captain (Johan Muller) is he the ex-Shark? I don’t think Devon Raubenheimer is really any good, can’t see him make any other super 15 team other than the cheetahs and maybe stormers as they go through loosies faster than a hot knife through butter.
