Kiwi Zac Guildford’s goose appears to now be properly cooked, with the Crusaders winger having “voluntarily stood down” from the franchise squad after being involved in yet another drunken incident.
Guildford’s copybook has been blotted by a few similar incidents in the past, with his naked drunken rampage in the Cook Islands back in 2011 standing out as a particular low-light. He’d appeared to have sorted himself out, after a clean and sober 2012, but has now apparently suffered a serious relapse and, quite possibly, thrown his career away in the process.
The latest incident occurred at a private house party and details are sketchy, apart from the fact that alcohol was once again involved. Both the NZRU and the Crusadres have launched an investigation into the incident and initiated disciplinary proceedings against Guildford.

And he is only 23 or 24 or thereabouts. Best of luck dude.
This sort of shit wouldn’t happen if they legalised cannabis and banned alcohol. The whole world would be a better place.
Decent player mucking it up for himself.
Really sad this, but completely self-induced..
